Plain language. What we collect, why, and who touches it. Last updated October 2026.

What we collect

  • Book waitlist: first name, last name and email (all required), how you found the site, and basic device/browser information.
  • Requests and applications (speaking, advisory calls, recorded sessions, Founder OS, Boru updates): your name, email and what you write in the form.
  • Recorded sessions: if your application is picked, the session is recorded. Your face stays off camera; your voice is part of the recording.
  • Gap Check and First 14: your ratings, the commitment you choose and the days you check in. Saving your First 14 creates an account with your email, first name and timezone.
  • Companion Guide: your answers. Some questions are personal (health, faith, family, money, regrets). Answer only what you're comfortable sharing.
  • Sign-in: a one-time code sent to your email, or Google sign-in, which shares your email and name with us.
  • Members redeem: name, email, phone, access code, marketing consent, optional anonymized-insights consent.
  • Workbook / Action Plan: form answers you submit (via Tally), plus a compiled plan stored so you can reopen it.
  • Basic analytics needed to run the site (page loads, errors), and how you arrived (for example the link or campaign you came from).

How we use it

  • Deliver book-launch, sign-in, First 14 and Action Plan emails.
  • Answer your requests and applications.
  • Build your dashboard and your action plan from your answers.
  • Marketing about Brian's work when you opt in (Kit / ConvertKit).
  • Anonymized aggregate insights only when you opt in — never sold as individual answers.
  • Operate members access and prevent code abuse.

Who processes it

The services that run the site: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Turso (database), Resend (email), Kit/ConvertKit (email lists), Google (if you choose Google sign-in), Adobe Fonts (which receives your IP address when the page loads its fonts) and Tally (older workbook forms). Donations to the Boru Fund are made on Community Foundation Tampa Bay's own site. We do not sell your answers.

The Companion Guide's dictation button uses your browser's speech recognition; in Chrome, that sends your voice to Google to turn it into text.

The AI companion pack runs in your ChatGPT or Claude account. Those conversations are not hosted on brianmcnally.com and are subject to that provider's terms.
